Every GCC country pays departing workers a lump sum based on their salary and length of service, but the formulas differ. The UAE pays 21 days of basic per year for five years and 30 days after, capped at two years' basic. Saudi Arabia pays half a month of actual wage per year for five years and a full month after, with cuts for resignation. Qatar's minimum is three weeks of basic a year; Oman's is one month of final basic a year.

On basic salary only: 21 days' basic for each of the first five years and 30 days for each year after, with daily wage = basic ÷ 30. Nothing is due under one year and the total is capped at two years' basic. Resigning no longer reduces it.
It depends on the country. The UAE, Qatar and Oman use basic salary. Saudi Arabia uses your actual wage — basic plus fixed allowances like housing and transport — which is why the calculator asks for allowances only for Saudi Arabia.
In the UAE, Qatar and Oman, the formulas used here pay the same whether you resign or are let go. In Saudi Arabia resigning cuts the award: nothing under 2 years, one third for 2–5 years, two thirds for 5–10 years, and the full amount after 10.
Not in the UAE or Qatar, where gratuity starts after one full year. After that, partial years are paid pro-rata. The calculator handles years and extra months together.
Yes, both have end-of-service indemnity, but we're still verifying the current rules — Bahrain moved expat indemnity to the SIO fund in 2024 — so those calculators are marked coming soon.
Gratuity is usually the biggest part, but your final settlement also includes unused annual leave, notice pay if you didn't work your notice, and salary for days worked in your last month. The final settlement calculator adds them up.
