How the remote job ad is built

The ad follows the standard Gulf job ad layout and adds three remote-specific sections. 'Where you can work from' turns your choice (your country only, anywhere in the GCC, or anywhere with overlapping hours) into one clear sentence. 'Working hours' states the core hours and work week. The equipment line appears only if you provide a laptop. Requirements always end with a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work, because every remote candidate should expect that line. The work model is fixed to Remote when you post it.

What should a remote job ad say that an office job ad doesn't?

Three things candidates ask first: where they're allowed to live (your country only, anywhere in the GCC, or anywhere), the core hours they must be online in your time zone, and what equipment you provide. Leave any of these out and you get applications from people you can't hire, plus a stream of the same questions by email. The template has a line for each.

Can I hire a remote employee who lives in another GCC country?

Usually not as a normal local employee: a work permit and residence visa are tied to the country where the person lives and works. Companies hiring across borders typically engage the person as an independent contractor or through an employer-of-record provider in their country. Check the set-up with your PRO or legal adviser before you advertise 'anywhere in the GCC'. This template words the ad; it doesn't decide the contract.

Which work week should I state — Monday to Friday or Sunday to Thursday?

State the one your team actually works. Many UAE employers moved to a Monday–Friday week after the federal government did in 2022, while Saudi Arabia and several other GCC countries commonly work Sunday–Thursday. For a remote team spread across borders, saying the work week next to the core hours prevents a lot of confusion.

Should a remote job ad show the salary?

Yes. Remote roles attract applicants from many markets with very different expectations, so a monthly range in your currency is the quickest filter. If you pay differently by location, say so in one line (for example 'Range for GCC-based hires').

Is 'remote' the same as 'work from home' in a Gulf job ad?

Candidates read them the same way, but 'remote' is the term job boards filter on. If people need to come into an office some days, choose the standard job ad template and set the work model to Hybrid instead — calling a hybrid job remote is one of the fastest ways to lose a good candidate at the interview stage.
