Hiring a Physiotherapist in the UAE: Market Snapshot
Physiotherapy is one of the faster-growing allied-health categories in the UAE, driven by an expanding network of rehabilitation centres, sports-medicine and orthopaedic clinics, home-healthcare providers, hospital rehab departments and wellness and longevity facilities. Demand spans musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapists, neuro and paediatric rehab specialists, and home-care therapists serving an ageing and increasingly health-conscious population. As with every clinical role, the binding constraint is not the volume of CVs but the number of candidates who already hold, or can quickly secure, a valid emirate health-professional licence - and that reality shapes how you budget, screen and time the hire.
The candidate pool draws heavily on an expatriate allied-health workforce from India, the Philippines, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan and the wider region, alongside locally trained graduates. Genuinely licence-ready physiotherapists with GCC experience are far scarcer than raw application numbers suggest. Who is hiring? Rehabilitation and physiotherapy centres (the bulk of volume roles), sports-medicine and orthopaedic clinics, hospital rehab departments, home-healthcare companies, and wellness, longevity and fitness facilities.
What It Costs to Hire a Physiotherapist in the UAE
The UAE has no personal income tax, so a quoted salary is effectively net to the employee, but the employer still carries visa, insurance and end-of-service costs on top of base pay. Treat the headline salary as roughly 70 to 80 percent of the true annual cost. Public self-reported averages skew low because they mix in physiotherapy assistants and aides; recruitment-firm guides report higher, more realistic bands for fully licensed physiotherapists.
- Junior physiotherapist (0 to 2 years): roughly AED 7,000 to 12,000 per month.

A physiotherapist is a skilled role, so the position counts towards your Emiratisation quota. How to Speed Up the Hire
