How the requirements are chosen

Each of the 13 job families has a short set of core requirements written for Gulf hiring. The level adds the experience line (entry level 0–1 years up to director 10+ years, with team leadership from Lead upwards). The country adds licensing where it is standard for the job (health-authority licences for healthcare, Saudi Council of Engineers or Kuwait Society of Engineers accreditation for engineers) and local know-how as a nice-to-have (UAE VAT and Corporate Tax, ZATCA and Zakat, MOHRE and WPS, Qiwa and GOSI). Arabic, education and a driving licence are added only when you choose them. Lines in [brackets] are examples to replace with your own tools or speciality.

Eligibility: Able to obtain a licence once hired — keeps qualified people from abroad in your pool.

Frequently asked questions

How many requirements should a job ad list?

Three to eight must-haves. Past eight, candidates who could do the job well start ruling themselves out, while less careful applicants apply anyway. The generator warns you when your list goes over eight and suggests moving the rest to 'Nice to have'.

What's the difference between must-have and nice-to-have?

A must-have is something the person can't do the job without on day one — a licence, a core tool, a level of experience. A nice-to-have helps but you'd hire a strong candidate without it. If you would waive a requirement for the right person, it belongs in nice-to-have.

Which GCC licences should a job ad mention?

Healthcare roles need a licence from the local health authority (in the UAE: DHA, DOH or MOHAP; in Saudi Arabia: SCFHS registration; in Qatar: the Ministry of Public Health), and engineers in Saudi Arabia need Saudi Council of Engineers accreditation. Ask for the licence 'or eligibility to obtain it' so qualified people moving from abroad still apply. Add a driving-licence line only when the job involves driving.

Should I ask for GCC experience?

Usually as a nice-to-have, not a must-have. 'Experience in the GCC' screens out strong candidates who could learn local rules quickly. Name the local knowledge you actually need instead — for example UAE VAT filings, Qiwa and GOSI processes or Saudi Council of Engineers accreditation.

Can I require Arabic?

Yes, when the job really needs it — dealing with government portals, Arabic-speaking customers or patients. Otherwise mark it 'a plus'. Ask for the language skill, not a nationality: 'fluent Arabic' rather than 'Arab nationals'.

Why does it say 'or equivalent experience' after the degree?

Because many capable people learned on the job. Adding it widens your pool without lowering the bar. Remove it when a degree is legally needed for the role or for the work permit category.
