How do you invite a candidate to an interview clearly, in English or Arabic?

Write a clear interview invitation email in English, Arabic or both — for an in-person, video or phone interview. Add the date, time and time zone, the address or video link, who the candidate will meet and what to bring, and get a ready-to-send email with a subject line.

How the invitation is put together

A good invitation answers every practical question before the candidate has to ask: when, where or how, for how long, with whom, what to bring and how to confirm. Choose the format and only the details for that format appear — an address and arrival note for in person, a link and tech check for video, a call-back note for phone. The time zone is written next to the time, because Gulf candidates are often in a different country (or on a different clock) from the hiring team. The Arabic version is formal Modern Standard Arabic, written from the same details.

GST (UTC+4): Gulf Standard Time, used in the UAE and Oman.
AST (UTC+3): Arabia Standard Time, used in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Confirm-by date: The date you need a reply by, so you can release or rebook the slot.
Building access: Many Gulf office towers register visitors at security, usually against an Emirates ID, Iqama or passport.

Before you send it

Write the date in full with the day of the week (for example, Tuesday 14 October 2026). Numeric dates are read differently by candidates from different countries.
Always add the time zone, especially when the candidate is abroad or interviewing across the UAE–Saudi time difference.
For the Arabic version, type names, dates and the address in Arabic if you want a fully Arabic email — the template keeps whatever you enter.

What should an interview invitation email include?

The job title and company, the interview format, the date written in full, the time with the time zone, the expected duration, who the candidate will meet, the address or video link, anything to bring, a date to confirm by and a contact name and phone number. Put the role and company in the subject line so the email is easy to find.

Should I send interview invitations in Arabic?

For Arabic-speaking candidates, and for roles where Arabic is part of the job, an Arabic or bilingual invitation is a courteous touch and avoids misunderstandings. Choose Both to send English and Arabic in one email. The Arabic text is formal and suitable for any Gulf country.

Which time zone should I put in the email?

The time zone of the interview, written next to the time. The UAE and Oman use GST (UTC+4); Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain use AST (UTC+3). For a candidate abroad, consider adding their local time too, or schedule through a calendar invite that converts it automatically.

Can I schedule interviews on Fridays or during Ramadan?

Most UAE employers have a Saturday–Sunday weekend, while Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman have a Friday–Saturday weekend, so check the candidate's working week. Avoid Friday midday prayer time. During Ramadan working hours are shorter; morning slots usually work best, and avoid times close to iftar.

What should candidates bring to an in-person interview in the Gulf?

Usually a copy of their passport or Emirates ID / Iqama for building security, and anything the role needs — such as a portfolio, certificates or a licence. Only ask for what you will actually use at this stage; full document checks normally come with the offer.

How soon should a candidate confirm an interview?

Give a reply-by date one or two working days before the interview. That leaves time to rebook the slot if they decline. If you don't hear back, a short reminder by phone or WhatsApp is common in the Gulf.
