How do I write a job ad that attracts Emirati candidates?

What makes an Emirati job ad work

Lead with the title and 'UAE nationals preferred', describe real duties, and state the salary — at least AED 6,000 a month, because Emiratis paid less don't count toward your target. Say the salary is paid through WPS with pension registration: both are conditions for the hire to count, and both matter to candidates. The Arabic version mirrors the English so you can post either or both.

The role should be a skilled job (MOHRE skill levels 1–5) if you're hiring toward the 50+ staff target.
Use real duties and a real workplace — hiring on paper only is penalised.

Can a UAE job ad say 'UAE nationals preferred'?

Yes — 'UAE nationals preferred' is standard wording for roles you want to fill under Emiratisation, and it tells Emirati candidates the role is meant for them. Keep the rest of the ad about the job: duties, requirements, pay and how to apply.

What salary should an Emirati job ad show?

At least AED 6,000 a month. That's the private-sector minimum wage for Emiratis from 1 January 2026, and since 1 July 2026 Emiratis paid below it no longer count toward your Emiratisation target. Showing the salary also gets more applications.

Should the ad mention pension and WPS?

It helps. An Emirati only counts toward your target when paid through the Wages Protection System and registered for pension and social security, and candidates look for both. The template includes the line for you.

Can I mention Nafis in the ad?

You can say eligible Emirati candidates may qualify for Nafis salary support. Don't promise an amount — Nafis decides each person's top-up from their salary and eligibility.
