Licensing and checks for a procurement manager in Bahrain

There is no single state licence required to employ an in-house procurement manager in Bahrain. Screening is your responsibility, and in procurement it should be thorough, because the role combines spending authority with supplier relationships.

The most recognised professional credential is membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). Supply-chain certifications from other bodies, and degrees in engineering, business or supply chain management, are also common. For industrial or project buying, technical understanding of what is being bought often matters more than the certificate. Verify memberships directly with the awarding body and ask for attested degree certificates for the permit file.

Integrity checks deserve more weight here than in most roles. Take references from former line managers and, where possible, from finance colleagues who saw how the candidate handled approvals.
