Work Experience: Format as Job Title | Company | City, Country | Date Range. Each bullet must include the event type, scale metric, and outcome. “Planned and executed a 3-day industry conference for 1,200 delegates with AED 1.5M budget, achieving 95% attendee satisfaction and 30% sponsorship revenue increase year-over-year” scores far higher than “Organized successful conferences.”
Skills: Flat categorized list. Separate into Event Types, Planning & Logistics, Tools, Languages, and Certifications. Name specific platforms: Cvent, Eventbrite, Social Tables. Do not write “event software” generically.
Education: Degree, institution, graduation year. Relevant degrees include Hospitality Management, Event Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration, and Communications.
Certifications: List CMP, CSEP, PMP, or other credentials in a dedicated section with issuing body and year obtained. GCC employers frequently filter for CMP certification in their ATS.
GCC Employer ATS Systems for Event Roles
The GCC events industry spans hospitality groups, government entities, entertainment companies, and destination management firms, each using different ATS platforms.
Oracle Taleo is the standard at large GCC hospitality and government organizations. Jumeirah Group, Dubai Holding, Rotana Hotels, and Abu Dhabi government entities use Taleo. This system requires exact keyword matching. Mirror the job posting’s language precisely — if it says “MICE events,” use that exact acronym rather than spelling out “Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions.”
SAP SuccessFactors is used by conglomerates with hospitality and events divisions. Majid Al Futtaim (which operates event venues across the GCC), IHG Hotels & Resorts regional operations, and Accor Middle East use SuccessFactors. Common ATS Rejection Reasons for Event Managers
The most common rejection reason is describing events narratively without including keyword-rich details. “Successfully delivered an unforgettable evening for our client” contains zero ATS-matchable keywords. Rewrite as “Managed a 300-guest corporate gala dinner with AED 400K budget, coordinating catering, AV production, entertainment, and décor vendors.”
Missing scale metrics cause ATS scoring failures. GCC event employers configure their ATS to flag budget figures, attendee counts, and event frequency. Every major event on your resume should include at least two quantitative data points: budget managed, number of attendees, number of vendors coordinated, or year-over-year growth figures.
Omitting certifications in a parseable format costs qualified candidates. If you hold CMP or CSEP certification, it must appear in a clearly labeled Certifications section, not mentioned casually in your summary or cover letter. ATS systems extract certifications from dedicated sections with significantly higher reliability.
Using creative or non-standard section headers causes the ATS to miscategorize or skip your content entirely. “Event Portfolio” is not recognized as “Work Experience” by most parsers. Stick with standard headers that every ATS platform knows how to process.
Neglecting GCC-specific keywords is a critical oversight.
