[Company name] (to fill in) — EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK (UAE) Version 1.0 · Effective [Effective date] (to fill in)
1. Welcome Welcome to [Company name] (to fill in). [What the company does] (to fill in). This handbook explains how we work. It does not replace your employment contract or UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021; where they differ, the law and your contract prevail.
2. Your employment • Your employment contract is issued through MOHRE and sets your job, salary, probation and notice. • Probation can last up to 6 months. During probation, 14 days' notice applies, or 30 days if you resign to join another UAE employer. • After probation, the notice period in your contract applies (UAE law requires 30 to 90 days).
3. Working hours and attendance • Working hours: 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday. • Record your attendance and tell your manager early if you will be late or absent. • Overtime must be approved in advance and is paid or compensated as required by law.
4. Pay • Salary is paid on the last working day of each month through the Wage Protection System (WPS). • Your salary is split into basic salary and allowances. End-of-service gratuity and leave pay are based on basic salary.
5. Leave • Annual leave: 30 days' paid annual leave for each year of service. • Sick leave, maternity and other leave follow UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021; tell your manager and HR as early as you can and provide medical certificates where required. • Public holidays are announced by the government each year.
6. Conduct • Act honestly and respectfully, and respect the laws and customs of the UAE. • Protect confidential information, personal data and company property. • Harassment and discrimination are not tolerated.
8. Discipline and grievances • Breaches are handled under the Company's approved disciplinary rules, usually starting with a conversation, then written warnings. • You can raise a concern or grievance with your manager or HR at any time; it will be handled confidentially.
9. Health and safety • Follow safety instructions and report accidents and hazards straight away. • You are covered by health insurance as set out in your contract.
10. Leaving the company • Give notice in writing as set out in your contract. • Hand over your work and return company property by your last day. • Your final settlement includes salary to your last day, end-of-service gratuity and any unused leave, paid in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021.
