HanmiGlobal is seeking a highly qualified GIS / CAD Specialist to join our program management and PMCM team in Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will support the management, development, integration, and quality control of geospatial data, engineering drawings, and digital mapping deliverables for a mega multi-work-package land and infrastructure development program in Riyadh, delivered on behalf of a major government entity.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate GIS databases, coordinating CAD drawings and spatial information across project packages, and ensuring the consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of technical and geospatial data. The role will support design coordination, infrastructure planning, utility mapping, interface management, and informed decision-making throughout the program lifecycle.
Reports To: GIS / Technical Manager or designated Program Management representative.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update GIS databases, geospatial datasets, digital maps, and spatial information systems in accordance with program requirements and applicable standards.
- Prepare, review, and manage CAD drawings, engineering layouts, site plans, utility networks, infrastructure corridors, and land development drawings.
- Integrate GIS data with CAD drawings, engineering models, survey information, and other technical deliverables to support coordinated program-wide information management.
- Review and validate the accuracy, completeness, consistency, coordinate systems, projections, and spatial references of incoming geospatial data and engineering drawings.
- Maintain accurate spatial records for roads, drainage networks, water supply, wastewater, electrical systems, telecommunications, utilities, land parcels, and other infrastructure assets.
- Coordinate with design consultants, infrastructure engineers, survey teams, utility providers, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to obtain, verify, and consolidate GIS and CAD information.
- Support interface management by identifying spatial conflicts, overlapping infrastructure corridors, utility clashes, boundary discrepancies, and inconsistencies between design packages.
- Prepare GIS maps, thematic mapping, spatial analyses, layouts, and technical drawings to support design reviews, planning, construction coordination, and management reporting.
- Establish and maintain drawing registers, GIS data inventories, revision histories, metadata, and document control procedures in coordination with the project document control team.
- Ensure compliance with approved CAD standards, GIS data specifications, naming conventions, layering structures, drawing templates, and program information management protocols.
- Support the preparation of as-built drawings, asset data, utility records, and GIS deliverables required for handover and operational readiness.
- Coordinate with Planning, Design, Technical, Construction, Project Controls, and Interface Management teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of geospatial and CAD information.
- Identify data quality issues, drawing discrepancies, and missing information, and coordinate corrective actions with the responsible parties.
- Support the implementation and use of digital collaboration platforms, PMIS, EDMS, and geospatial information management tools.
- Prepare periodic progress updates and reports on GIS/CAD deliverables, data quality, drawing status, and outstanding technical information.
- Promote continuous improvement in GIS/CAD workflows, data integration, automation, and digital engineering practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geospatial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 - 12 years of relevant professional experience in GIS, CAD, geospatial data management, infrastructure, utilities, land development, or major construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, urban development, land development, or multi-package engineering programs.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, or QGIS.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D is highly desirable.
- Experience integrating GIS datasets with CAD drawings, survey data, engineering designs, and infrastructure asset information.
- Knowledge of coordinate reference systems, georeferencing, spatial data formats, geodatabases, map production, and spatial analysis.
- Familiarity with infrastructure utility networks, road networks, drainage systems, utility corridors, and engineering drawing standards.
- Experience with BIM/GIS integration, digital engineering platforms, or 3D geospatial tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of data quality assurance, revision control, metadata management, and digital document management procedures.
- Previous experience within PMCM, PMC, EPCM, engineering consultancy, or client-side organizations is preferred.
- Experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC, particularly on government-led infrastructure or giga-projects, is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, coordination capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
