Beond is the world's first premium leisure airline, flying an all-lie-flat Airbus fleet, and is standing up new Air Operator Certificates in Bahrain (BCAA) and Saudi Arabia (GACA). We are seeking a Director of Maintenance for our Saudi Arabia AOC (General Authority of Civil Aviation), based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Director of Maintenance is appointed by, and reports to, the Accountable Executive, and is responsible for:
- Administer the certificate holder's approved maintenance programme.
- Own the maintenance organisation exposition/manual and ensure aircraft are maintained and returned to service per the GACAR.
- Manage contracted maintenance (Part-145 / repair stations) and the airworthiness interface.
- Ensure reliability monitoring, AD/SB management and technical-records integrity.
- Interface with GACA for maintenance approvals, audits and findings.
This is a required management position under GACAR Part 121.45. The post is full-time and the successful candidate must be acceptable to GACA (the President) based on experience, competence and knowledge, with a full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual (GACAR 121.45(e), (g)).
Mandatory
- Hold a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant (A&P) ratings (GACAR 121.49(c)(1)).
- At least 1 year of experience in a position responsible for returning aircraft to service (GACAR 121.49(c)(2)).
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience maintaining the same category and class of aircraft (GACAR 121.49(c)(3)).
- 3 years within the past 6 years maintaining large aircraft (10+ seats) or in a certificated repair station (GACAR 121.49(c)(4)).
- Full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual; must be acceptable to GACA (GACAR 121.45(e), (g)).
Desirable
- Airbus type experience.
- New-AOC / maintenance stand-up experience.
- Fluent English; Arabic advantageous.
