Brand Director

We are looking for a commercially minded Brand Director to lead brand and marketing across the Clermont Group. The role is accountable for delivering measurable business value through brand activity, including growth in awareness, preference, demand, and revenue. They will set brand strategy, including positioning and brand architecture, for Clermont and its operating companies, and ensure it is applied consistently across every market and channel. They will lead the Design team, translating strategy into high-quality creative work at pace. They must have excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders at Clermont and at our operating companies.

Responsibilities

• Own brand across the Clermont Group and its contribution to growth, with accountability for brand equity, commercial performance, and return on brand investment
• Define and evolve brand strategy for Clermont and its operating companies, including positioning, value propositions, and messaging
• Set and maintain brand architecture for operating companies
• Establish brand governance so that strategy, guidelines, and visual identity are implemented consistently across operating companies, markets, and touchpoints
• Partner with operating company leaders to develop marketing plans and campaigns that support their growth objectives, and ensure execution meets Clermont’s standards
• Define KPIs for brand and marketing activity, including brand health, campaign effectiveness, and return on investment, and report results to senior leadership
• Translate brand strategy into clear creative briefs, and set a high bar for creative excellence across print, digital, video, and multimedia output
• Lead and develop the Design team, providing end-to-end oversight of concurrent workstreams and remaining hands-on where required
• Continuously evolve the function by introducing innovative tools and ways of working, including the thoughtful adoption of AI
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following traits:

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in brand, marketing, or design
• Proven experience developing brand strategy, including positioning, brand architecture, and messaging
• A track record of embedding brand standards consistently across a multi-brand or multi-market organisation
• Demonstrated ability to link brand and marketing activity to commercial outcomes, with experience setting and reporting on KPIs
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to build a business case for brand and marketing investment
• Exceptional creative judgement and attention to detail, with a strong critical eye for consistency and quality
• Demonstrated ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders
• A growth mindset, with the confidence to challenge conventions and step outside comfort zones
• Professional presence and polish, appropriate for a senior leadership role
• Positive, energising attitude, with the ability to inspire teams and stakeholders
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
