A warehouse manager job description has a specific job: it must attract someone who can run a live operation - people, safety, stock accuracy and throughput - while filtering out the large volume of generalist applications that UAE logistics posts attract. The country is a global fulfilment hub, with port, free-zone and e-commerce warehouses across Jebel Ali, DAFZA, Dubai South and the wider GCC, so demand for warehouse managers is steady - but so is the spread of candidate quality, from genuine operations leaders to supervisors who have relabelled their CV. The single biggest mistake employers make is posting a generic "Warehouse Manager wanted" advert that omits the salary band, the type of operation (3PL vs. e-commerce fulfilment vs. cold chain vs. industrial), the WMS in use and the work-authorisation expectation. Vague posts pull volume and almost no signal. The template below fixes that. - Own inventory accuracy: cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and root-cause fixes for shrinkage and discrepancies.
- Hit operational KPIs: order accuracy, on-time dispatch, dock-to-stock time, pick rate and space utilisation.
- Administer the Warehouse Management System (WMS) - [e.g. SAP EWM, Manhattan, Blue Yonder/JDA, Oracle] - and keep data clean.
- Own warehouse health and safety: enforce HSE procedures, MHE (forklift) safety, racking inspections and incident reporting in line with UAE/emirate OHS rules.
- Manage layout, slotting and capacity to maximise throughput and minimise travel.
- Control operating cost: labour productivity, MHE, consumables and overtime.

Requirements (must-have)

Salary band and benefits

Aggregator averages (often quoted around AED 5,600-8,000/month) skew low because they blend in junior supervisor roles; a realistic band for a genuine warehouse manager is roughly AED 10,000-18,000/month, rising to AED 20,000-40,000 for senior managers at high-volume operations and major logistics players, with e-commerce fulfilment-centre managers reportedly 20-30% above traditional warehouse managers. Stating the band is the single most effective filter you can add. Work authorisation and visa wording

Logistics fall under the standard private-sector Emiratisation regime, and 'transportation and warehousing' is explicitly one of the designated activities that bring 20-49-employee firms into scope; 50+ employee firms must lift Emiratis in skilled roles by 2% per year toward 10% by end-2026. A warehouse manager is a skilled role that counts toward your MOHRE/Nafis target. You can still hire an expatriate, and most employers do, but where you intend to fill this with a UAE national to support your quota, say so - and keep it truthful, because MOHRE's Tasdeeq system penalises fictitious Emiratisation heavily.
Tips for Writing a Warehouse Manager JD That Converts
1. Lead with the three filters. Salary band, the type of operation and the visa expectation belong near the top. This trio cuts mismatched applications dramatically.
2. Describe the operation, not just the title. A 3PL multi-client site, an e-commerce fulfilment centre, a cold-chain pharma warehouse and an industrial spare-parts store are very different jobs. State the size (sqm, SKUs, order volume, headcount) so candidates can self-assess.
3. Name the WMS. A manager who has lived in SAP EWM is different from one who has only used a basic in-house system. SAP EWM, Manhattan and JDA/Blue Yonder are the most-cited systems in UAE postings - listing the real one filters hard for fit.
4. Make safety explicit. Warehouse HSE, forklift/MHE safety and racking inspection are not optional in the UAE. Naming them screens for managers who own safety rather than treating it as someone else's job.
5. Be honest about the workforce. Running a large, multinational, multi-shift blue-collar team is the core challenge of this role. Say so, and screen for genuine people-leadership rather than purely technical warehouse knowledge.
6. Match seniority to the band. A warehouse manager at a small store is a different hire - and band - from a DC manager running hundreds of staff across shifts at a major logistics player. Listing big-operation duties under a small-site salary repels strong candidates and attracts churn.
7. Keep claims honest. There is no "UAE warehouse licence" to ask for. Screen on operational track record, WMS proficiency and any certifications, and verify certifications with the issuing body rather than inventing a credential.
8. Make location and shift pattern explicit. State mainland vs. free zone, the emirate, and the shift reality (e.g. "Dubai South, on-site, 6-day, rotating shifts"). Warehouse roles live or die on logistics fit - say it up front to prevent late drop-off.
