A strong match means the same email, or the same phone number in any format (+971, 00971 or 0…). A possible match means the same full name after spelling variants (Mohamed / Muhammad, Abdel / Abdul, Al-) are evened out — check those by hand before you tell a client it's a duplicate.
How duplicates are found
Each line is split into emails, phone numbers and the remaining name. Emails are compared case-insensitively; phone numbers by their last 8 digits, so country codes and leading zeros don't matter; names after removing accents, 'Al-' and similar particles, sorting the words and evening out common transliterations. A shared email or phone is a strong match. A shared full name of two or more words is a possible match. In 'Repeats in one list' mode every line is compared with every other line in the same list.
- Strong match
- Same email, or the same phone number in any format.
- Possible match

Good to know
- Matching is a guide — always check possible matches before telling a client or another agency.
- Lines with only a first name can't be matched reliably; add an email or phone.
- Ownership disputes are settled by your terms of business and timestamps, not by this tool.
Then send the shortlist

Frequently asked questions
Is my candidate data uploaded anywhere?
No. The comparison runs in your browser; nothing you paste is sent to MenaJobs or stored. Closing the page clears it. That's also why there's no 'email me this' on this tool.
How does it match phone numbers in different formats?
It strips spaces, dashes and brackets and compares the last 8 digits, so +971 50 123 4567, 00971501234567 and 050 123 4567 match, and 8-digit numbers in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman match with or without the country code.
How does name matching work?
Names are lower-cased, accents and Arabic diacritics removed, 'Al-', 'bin' and 'ibn' ignored, word order ignored and common spellings evened out (Mohamed / Muhammad / Mohammed, Abdel / Abdul, Yousef / Yusuf, Hussain / Hussein). Arabic letter forms such as أ / إ / ا are treated as the same. A name-only match is marked 'possible' because two people can share a name — check those by hand.
What should I paste?
One candidate per line, with a name, email and/or phone number in any order — straight from Excel, Google Sheets or an ATS export. Up to 2,000 lines per list.
Why does duplicate submission matter for agencies?
Most terms of business give the fee to whoever introduced the candidate first. Submitting someone the client already has — or another agency already sent — wastes the client's time and can lead to fee disputes. Check before you send a shortlist.
