Truck Mixer Driver

The Truck Mixer Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a concrete mixer truck for the delivery of ready-mix concrete to customer sites. The role ensures that deliveries are completed in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer's recommendations, quality standards, and all applicable traffic and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the truck mixer in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Deliver ready-mix concrete to designated customer sites as identified on delivery tickets and instructed by the Batcher or Production Supervisor.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure the truck mixer is maintained in accordance with company requirements.
• Drive safely and responsibly while complying with all traffic laws and regulations.
• Verify that adequate and safe access is available before entering and discharging concrete at customer sites.
• Safely discharge concrete according to customer requirements and company procedures.
• Liaise with customers, site representatives, and concrete pump operators to ensure efficient deliveries and excellent customer service.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the truck mixer, ensuring it remains free from excessive concrete buildup.
• Promptly report vehicle defects, mechanical faults, accidents, delays, or operational issues to the Batcher, Production Supervisor, and Workshop.
• Report customer complaints regarding concrete quality or supply to senior production staff.
• Complete delivery documentation accurately and maintain records as required.
• Follow instructions provided by supervisors and other authorized personnel.

Requirements

• Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (Special Use License preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy vehicles, preferably truck mixers or construction-related equipment.
• Good knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving practices.
• Ability to perform daily vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Basic understanding of ready-mix concrete delivery operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, site personnel, and colleagues.
• Physically fit and capable of working in a demanding outdoor environment.
• Safety-conscious with strong awareness of operating heavy vehicles around personnel and construction activities.
