Senior Electrical Engineer

About the Role:

As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will be required to work independently and liaise with contractor’s technical team at the site technical office and display knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.

Responsibility:

• Reviewing and approval of contractor's construction program, material submittal, quality control & method statements/methodology.
• Reviewing submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice.
• Have knowledge of technical submittals including material submittals, RFIs, and pre qualifications and handing over documents.
• Monitor and coordinate construction activities to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Address and resolve issues that arise during the construction phase. Advise Planning Engineer and Construction Manager of any slippage of progress regarding site activities.
• Tracking ongoing documentation by others to meet scheduled milestone and deadline for submittal.
• Make sure that the contractor all material used at site complies with approved material submittal and project specification requirements.
• Verify and certify quality and completion of works.
• Prepare Monthly Materials Report to ensure that all work accomplished complies with the specification requirements.
• Make sure that any non- conformity has been reported through a Non-conformance. Reviewing the project closeout reports as submitted by contractor. And performing other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
• Follow up with local authorities for timely approvals and no objection certificates.
• Attending factory visits, supplier’s plant inspection as required.
• Checking and ensuring effective co-ordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines.
• Manage all site issues and coordinate with office personnel to resolve issues as needed
• Provide expertise technical assistance for pre-commissioning, energization, commissioning, and start-up, as required by the project
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Membership of a professional Engineering Institution would be an advantage.
• Minimum of 15 years post graduate experience ideally within an Architectural, Engineering construction consultancy environment in the UAE regionExperience

• Project coordination and execution skills
• Expertise in all aspects of electrical engineering within construction, including HV, LV, Telecom, Low current systems, Emergency services, Security system, UPS and Generator, and Fire Alarm System.
• Proven experience in large scale development projects, at least 2-years’ experience as a Lead Engineer, managing requirements of a project independently.
• Extensive knowledge of British and American Electrical codes and standardsSkills

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
• Excellent knowledge of local statutory authorities’ regulations and submission requirements across Middle East, mainly, UAE – DUBAI.Benefits
