- Expand the band's repertoire by introducing new pieces and genres.
- Lead the band during live performances, ensuring precise timing, dynamics, and artistic expression.
- Communicate cues and directions to musicians during performances.
- Collaborate with band members to shape the overall artistic identity of the group.
- Arrange and/or compose music as needed, adapting pieces to the band's instrumentation and skill level.
- Mentor and guide student musicians, fostering their musical growth and development.
- Conduct auditions to select new members for the band.
- Promote the university music band within the campus community and beyond.
- Participate in AU major events, such as AU Global Day and AU’s celebrations of UAE National Day.IMPORTANT NOTE: This role is on a Temporary Basis and for just 8 hours a week
Requirements
- •Ability to plan and conduct regular rehearsals
- •Experience in providing musical direction to musicians and vocalists
- •Skill in teaching and refining musical techniques and dynamics
- •Ability to choose and arrange musical compositions
- •Experience leading live performances
- •Ability to mentor and guide student musicians
- •Ability to conduct auditions for new members
- •Ability to promote the music band within the campus community
