Core Technical Skills
Financial Due Diligence & Transaction Execution
- Extensive experience leading buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements across a range of transaction sizes and structures.
- Strong understanding of key deal drivers and transaction risks, with the ability to identify and communicate issues that may impact valuation, pricing, deal structure, financing, or post-deal integration.
- Lead the end-to-end execution of financial due diligence engagements, including planning, scoping, data request management, analysis, reporting, and client presentations.
- Perform and oversee analysis of quality of earnings, normalized EBITDA, net debt, working capital requirements, cash flow generation, and other key financial metrics.
- Evaluate historical financial performance, business trends, earnings sustainability, and underlying operational drivers.
- Review management forecasts, business plans, and financial models, assessing key assumptions, sensitivities, and risks relevant to the transaction.
- Translate complex financial analyses into clear, concise, and commercially relevant insights for private equity, corporate, infrastructure, and sovereign investors.
- Prepare and review high-quality due diligence reports, ensuring findings are focused on matters most relevant to client investment decisions.
- Identify, prioritize, and communicate critical transaction issues and develop practical recommendations to support client decision-making.
- Coordinate with valuation, tax, strategy, operational, ESG, and other specialist teams to deliver integrated transaction advice.
Energy and Natural Resources Expertise
- Demonstrated experience advising on transactions within the energy, natural resources, and infrastructure sectors, including oil & gas, petrochemicals, mining & metals, power & utilities, renewables, energy transition, and related industrial assets.
- Understanding of sector-specific value drivers, operating metrics, commercial structures, regulatory frameworks, and financial reporting considerations.
- Experience assessing project-based businesses, long-term contracts, commodity price exposure, reserve/resource-based assets, regulated businesses, and capital-intensive operating models.
- Ability to evaluate sector-specific risks and opportunities and articulate their impact on earnings, cash flows, valuation, and transaction structure.
- Knowledge of energy transition trends, decarbonization initiatives, renewable energy markets, and emerging infrastructure investment themes is advantageous.
Project & Client Management
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Lead engagement teams and allocate resources effectively across workstreams.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, target management teams, investors, lenders, and other transaction stakeholders.
- Proactively manage client expectations and ensure a high standard of client service throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Understand transaction objectives and tailor analyses and deliverables to address key client concerns and investment considerations.
- Facilitate effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
- Escalate key risks, issues, and commercial matters to Directors and Partners in a timely manner.
- Monitor project economics, including scope management, budgets, billing, collections, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with firm risk management, independence, quality control, and engagement documentation requirements.
Communication, Stakeholder Management & Presentation Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial and operational issues into clear, concise, and commercially relevant messages.
- Lead or co-lead management meetings, diligence sessions, data request discussions, status calls, and report debriefs with clients, targets, investors, lenders, and other transaction stakeholders.
- Present due diligence findings, key risks, and deal considerations confidently to senior management, investment teams, executive stakeholders, and investment committees.
- Facilitate discussions between multiple parties and drive alignment on key transaction matters in a professional and constructive manner.
- Demonstrate strong interviewing and information-gathering skills when interacting with target management teams and functional leaders.
- Effectively communicate project priorities, findings, and expectations to engagement teams, ensuring efficient execution and high-quality deliverables.
- Adapt communication style to different audiences, ranging from operational management to C-suite executives, boards, and investors.
- Prepare and review client-ready reports, presentations, and other transaction deliverables to a consistently high professional standard.

- Build trusted relationships with clients, management teams, investors, and other transaction stakeholders.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness and an ability to understand transaction rationale, investment objectives, and broader market dynamics.
- Collaborate effectively across service lines to identify opportunities for broader client support and integrated deal solutions.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, CFA, or equivalent.
- Significant experience in financial due diligence, transaction services, deal advisory, audit, corporate finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing due diligence engagements and leading teams in a professional services environment.
- Demonstrated transaction experience within the energy, natural resources, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Strong analytical, financial modelling, and financial statement analysis capabilities.
- Experience working with private equity, sovereign wealth funds, infrastructure investors, corporates, lenders, and other transaction participants is advantageous.
