Requirements
Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the Office of Research Compliance in the administration of externally funded grants and contracts. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and smooth operation of the research lifecycle, from proposal development through post-award activities. Working closely with faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders, the position provides comprehensive administrative and analytical support, contributes to accurate reporting and regulatory compliance, and helps strengthen institutional research systems and processes in support of GU-Q’s research mission.
As this position is based in Doha, Qatar and offers no relocation assistance, GU-Q is looking for locally based candidates only. This is temporary, non-sponsored position that requires all applicants to already have the necessary sponsorship to live and work in Qatar.
Key Accountabilities
• Assist the Office of Research Compliance in the external grants and contracts administration process including pre-award and post activities.
• Ensure research compliance and accurate data reporting to various stakeholders by collecting, analyzing and organizing relevant documentation and data.
• Provide general administrative support to the department.Key Activities
• Assist in pre-award administration of grants and contracts activities to include proposal preparation assistance; proposal budget, and justification preparation; sponsor and university proposal form completion; sub-recipient coordination.
• Assist with the review of proposals to ensure they comply with sponsor guidelines and GU policies and procedures.
• Assist in keeping GU-Q stakeholders adequately informed of potential impacts to departments if proposal is awarded.
• Create requests for purchase orders, payments, and review expense reimbursements.
• Track equipment purchased through grant funding.
• Track research output of externally sponsored grants.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to research compliance activities, ensuring that the office can track and report on compliance metrics.
• Assist in post-award activities.
• Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory agencies, internal committees, and university leadership as necessary.
• Provide general administrative support to the Office of Research Compliance, including scheduling meetings, taking detailed IRB minutes of the meetings and maintaining office documentation.
• Assist with the upgrade and development of institutional research systems and processes.
• Other similar duties as assigned.Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree.
• 2 year of experience in academic research.
• Experience in a university or other non-profit grants and contracts office or in a program management/research capacity.
• Experience working with researchers, faculty, administrators, or regulatory agencies.
• Experience in data processing and record-keeping.
• Familiarity with research protocol and regulatory knowledge.
• Ability to evaluate research processes and outputs to ensure that they align with ethical and regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of research grants management policies and procedures.
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze, manage and organize data.Current Georgetown Employees:
