We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex mental health conditions. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy referrals, and multidisciplinary care.
• Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring treatment effectiveness and patient safety.
• Assess and manage acute psychiatric emergencies, suicidal ideation, and severe behavioral disturbances.
• Provide ongoing care for patients with complex and chronic mental health disorders.
• Evaluate and manage psychiatric conditions associated with substance use disorders, trauma, and stress-related disorders.
• Collaborate with clinical psychologists, psychiatric nurses, neurologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and relapse prevention.
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians and multidisciplinary mental health team members.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, mental health legislation, confidentiality requirements, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification.
• American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred.
• Strong expertise in adult psychiatry, psychopharmacology, psychiatric emergencies, and complex mental health management.
• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Eligible for DOH Consultant Psychiatry classification/license in Abu Dhabi, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements.
