We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other ophthalmic conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, visual assessments, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Perform cataract surgery and other ophthalmic procedures, within authorized clinical privileges.
• Evaluate and manage refractive errors, corneal diseases, ocular infections, and inflammatory eye disorders.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic investigations, including OCT, fundus photography, visual field testing, and ocular ultrasound.
• Develop individualized medical and surgical treatment plans based on clinical findings.
• Diagnose and manage ophthalmic emergencies, ocular trauma, and sudden visual disturbances.
• Provide comprehensive pre-operative assessments, surgical management, and post-operative follow-up.
• Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, neurologists, endocrinologists, and other specialists.
• Educate patients regarding eye health, treatment options, and preventive vision care.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, ophthalmology protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification.
• American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred.
• Strong expertise in ophthalmic diagnostics, cataract management, and medical or surgical eye care.
• Eligible for DOH Consultant Ophthalmology classification/license in Abu Dhabi, with appropriate clinical privileges, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements.
