Consultant Neurosurgeon - American Board / CCT / Western Qualification

Job Summary

The Government hospital is looking for an experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon with strong expertise in the diagnosis and surgical management of complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of elective and emergency neurosurgical cases within a multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will contribute to advanced surgical services, patient outcomes, clinical excellence, and the continued development of the neurosurgery department.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures according to clinical expertise.
• Manage brain, spine, cerebrovascular, trauma, and other complex neurosurgical cases.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up.
• Work closely with neurologists, radiologists, intensivists, oncologists, and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and complex case discussions.
• Ensure high standards of patient safety, clinical governance, and evidence-based practice.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
• Support teaching, mentoring, clinical audits, research, and departmental development.
• Contribute to the introduction and advancement of modern neurosurgical techniques and services.

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Neurosurgery.
• American Board in Neurosurgery, UK CCT/CCST, or equivalent recognized Western qualification.
• Western-qualified candidate with established Consultant-level experience.
• Strong experience in complex neurosurgical procedures and tertiary hospital settings.
• Expertise in one or more areas such as brain surgery, spine surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, neuro-oncology, or neurotrauma.
• Strong clinical decision-making, surgical skills, and multidisciplinary communication.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based medicine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership experience and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
