- Review contractor HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work documents, and escalate concerns to the senior HSE lead.
- Monitor high-risk stormwater activities such as trenching and excavation, confined space entry, work at height, lifting operations, traffic management, dewatering and heat stress.
- Support environmental compliance, including dust, noise, waste, spill control and stormwater discharge, and check that permit conditions are met.
- Take part in incident investigations, and help make sure lessons learned are shared.
- Collect HSE data and prepare weekly and monthly reports on HSE performance.
- Check that workers are inducted, trained and competent, and that welfare standards are met.
- Attend HSE meetings, toolbox talks and site walkdowns, and promote good safety behaviour on site.
- Liaise with the contractors’ HSE teams and, where needed, the relevant authorities.
Qualifications
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate, or equivalent, as a minimum. The NEBOSH Diploma is preferred, or progress towards it.
- [8-10]+ years of HSE experience in construction or infrastructure, with at least [3-5] years in the UAE or GCC.
- Experience on civil, drainage, water or other infrastructure projects. Stormwater experience is an advantage.
- Experience in a PMC, client-side or supervision role is preferred, but not essential.
- Working knowledge of UAE HSE requirements, such as the applicable local authority or emirate frameworks (for example OSHAD in Abu Dhabi).
