Senior Accountant

We are actively looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience handling high-volume transactions, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This role involves owning day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.

Please note: this is a hands-on role with a significant amount of manual accounting work. A large part of the day-to-day involves manual data entry, manual journal entries, and maintaining accounts and reconciliations in Excel alongside the accounting system. Candidates should be comfortable and genuinely willing to do detailed, manual, transaction-level work, not only review or supervise it.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor invoices and handle daily manual data entry in Excel and the accounting system.
• Prepare and post manual journal entries (accruals, prepayments, reclasses, adjustments) and maintain accounts and schedules in Excel.
• Reconcile AP, GL, bank, and intercompany accounts across multiple entities and currencies.
• Classify costs and allocate expenses across departments and entities.
• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Manage vendor relationships: maintain vendor records, resolve queries and discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.
• Support audits with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards (IFRS).

• 7–10 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a fast-growing, multi-entity environment.
• Strong experience processing high volumes of vendor invoices and managing vendor relationships.
• Comfortable handling accounting in both Excel and an accounting system, including manual entries, manual journals, and manually maintained accounts.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data cleaning).
• Working knowledge of accounting systems, preferably Oracle NetSuite.
• Solid understanding of multi-company, intercompany, and multi-currency accounting and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic setup.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA, CPA, or CMA is a plus.
