Job Description
- A thorough and methodical approach.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Completes routine purchasing operation requirements.
- Ensure that correct supply levels are maintained.
- Coordinate movement of all purchased materials from suppliers to the plants and address any supply/supplier issues.
- Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
- Processes purchase orders for the acquisition/replenishment of routinely needed supplies, parts and materials.
- Checking if there is enough stock in the inventory to meet requirements.
- Placing orders with suppliers or vendors and ensuring that documentation is in order, with terms and conditions being clear.
- Maintaining a filing system in the purchase department and updating appropriate records when required.
- Looks for ways to reduce costs to the company, such as evaluating costs of purchasing from various suppliers to arrive at the best deal.
- Inspecting consignments to verify if they are in order and as per agreed terms.
- Interacting with suppliers in case of delay in delivery of supplies, receipt of damaged or incorrect quantity of goods.
- Practices ‘Yes I Can’ attitude
Qualifications
- Valid Qatar driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a Purchasing Driver, Procurement Driver, Delivery Driver, or similar role, preferably in a 5-star hotel.
- Good knowledge of Doha roads, locations, suppliers, markets, and industrial areas.
- Good communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and team members.
- Good numeracy skills for checking quantities, invoices, delivery notes, and purchase documents.
- Able to collect and deliver purchased goods safely, accurately, and on time.
- Assist the Purchasing Department with supplier collections, urgent purchases, and routine purchasing activities.
- Check delivered items against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes and report discrepancies immediately.
- Ensure purchased materials are handled, transported, and stored safely to prevent damage.
- Maintain proper documentation for all collections and deliveries.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, safe, properly maintained, and ready for daily operations.
- Follow all hotel, traffic, health & safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude when dealing with suppliers and team members.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Practise the “Yes I Can!” attitude and consistently support the hotel’s 5-star service standards.
Requirements
- •Valid Qatar driving licence with a clean driving record
- •Previous experience as a Purchasing Driver, Procurement Driver, or Delivery Driver
- •Experience in a 5-star hotel environment preferred
- •Good knowledge of Doha roads, locations, suppliers, and markets
- •Good communication skills
- •Good numeracy skills for checking quantities and invoices
- •Ability to collect and deliver goods safely and on time
