Job Description

Position Overview

Rixos Murjana is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Finance to lead and oversee the Finance function of the property.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Finance will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Finance Department, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, budget management, cash flow planning, compliance, and adherence to Rixos policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will build strong professional relationships with management, ownership representatives, regional and corporate teams, and external stakeholders while promoting a professional, transparent and positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Finance, Accounting, Cost Control, Purchasing and related financial operations of Rixos Murjana.

• Prepare, manage and monitor the annual operating budget, forecasts, cash flow projections and working capital requirements.

• Oversee monthly financial reporting, reconciliations and timely submission of reports to Rixos, ownership and relevant authorities.

• Maintain effective cash management controls and provide recommendations based on financial performance and cash flow forecasts.

• Monitor revenues, expenses, purchasing, payroll, disbursements and overall financial performance.

• Ensure compliance with Rixos policies, procedures, financial controls and applicable Saudi Arabian laws and regulations.

• Maintain strong professional relationships with owners and their representatives.

• Understand and ensure compliance with the management agreement and its key financial requirements.

• Coordinate with the Regional Director of Finance and Regional Office on financial matters, projects and critical path activities.

• Work closely with all departments of Rixos Murjana to monitor departmental expenses, identify variances and support cost control initiatives.

• Oversee purchasing controls, inventory counts, fixed assets and operating equipment purchases.

• Supervise credit management activities and support the reduction of overdue and uncollectible balances.

• Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory reports.

• Liaise with external auditors, legal counsel, government authorities and other professional advisors when required.

• Maintain accurate records of leases, contracts, licenses, permits, insurance and other relevant financial and legal documentation.

• Work closely with HR on payroll controls, payroll budgets and related procedures.

• Coordinate with the IT Department on financial system setup, implementation and training.

• Lead, coach, train, supervise and evaluate Finance and related department employees.

• Participate actively in credit meetings, management meetings, training programs and property initiatives.

• Support continuous improvement, operational efficiency and financial performance across Rixos Murjana.

Compliance and Quality Management

All employees of Rixos Murjana are expected to comply with the ISO Integrated Management System, including applicable standards relating to:

• Health, Safety and Risk Management

• Food Safety Management

• Customer Complaint Management

The Director of Finance will actively support risk management initiatives, environmental impact assessments, energy and water conservation, pollution prevention, guest satisfaction and continual improvement programs.

Additional Responsibilities

• Coordinate effectively with other Department Heads at Rixos Murjana.

• Monitor staff vacation and public holiday balances and provide required reports to HR.

• Conduct regular technical and skills training within the area of responsibility.

• Ensure team members are familiar with emergency, security and operational procedures.

• Maintain knowledge of relevant Rixos policies, operational standards and departmental documentation.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

• Assume Duty Manager responsibilities when scheduled.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline. A hospitality-related qualification is an advantage.

• 5-7 years of relevant finance experience within the hotel or hospitality industry.

• Previous experience in a senior hotel finance or Director of Finance role is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls and cash management.

• Good understanding of Saudi Arabian financial, tax and statutory requirements.

• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• High level of integrity, confidentiality and professional judgment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to work effectively with owners, General Management, Regional Finance and corporate stakeholders.
