Job Purpose
The Control & Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and optimization of industrial control and automation systems. The role ensures reliable and safe operation of PLC, SCADA, BMS, DCS, instrumentation, control panels, and associated electrical systems, while supporting preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and automation systems.
• Diagnose control-system faults and perform corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs, control logic, sequences, and HMI interfaces.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for automation and control equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, actuators, control valves, relays, VFDs, and instrumentation.
• Review electrical and control drawings, including: Control schematics, Wiring diagrams, Single-line diagrams, I/O lists, Instrumentation drawings, Cause & Effect diagrams.
• Perform testing and commissioning of automation and control systems.
• Participate in system upgrades, modifications, and new automation projects.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, IT, and other engineering teams during troubleshooting and project execution.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for automation improvement and energy optimization.
• Maintain accurate records of PM/CM activities, breakdowns, modifications, and system parameters.
• Support contractors and vendors during installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure automation systems comply with applicable safety, engineering, and company standards/procedures.
• Prepare technical, maintenance, and test reports, and equipment documentation.
• Maintain backups of PLC programs, HMI applications, configurations, and critical automation data.
• Support SCADA/BMS integration and communication networks, including industrial communication protocols.
• Participate in emergency and breakdown response activities when required.
Education requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Certification Requirements: Knowledge of IEC, NFPA, ISA, and other applicable standards.
Experience: 1-2 years in industrial automation, electrical systems, instrumentation, or maintenance.
Languages: Arabic (Fluent), English (Professional).
Technical Skills:
- PLC programming & troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi).
- SCADA, HMI, DCS, and BMS/IBMS systems.
- Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, Ethernet/IP, BACnet, OPC).
- Instrumentation, VFDs, control panels & electrical drawings.
- Testing, commissioning & control-system diagnostics.
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- •1-2 years experience in industrial automation, electrical systems, instrumentation, or maintenance
- •Fluent in Arabic and Professional in English
- •Knowledge of IEC, NFPA, ISA, and other applicable standards

- •Experience with SCADA, HMI, DCS, and BMS/IBMS systems
