Job Summary
Government hospital in the UAE is looking for an experienced Consultant Spine Surgeon to provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex spinal disorders. The role involves managing degenerative, traumatic, and complex spinal conditions and performing advanced surgical procedures while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in spinal surgery, strong expertise in complex cases, and a recognized Western postgraduate qualification and licensed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex spinal and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Perform elective and emergency spinal surgical procedures.
- Manage degenerative spinal disorders, spinal stenosis, disc disease, deformities, and spinal trauma.
- Perform advanced cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine procedures.
- Manage complex spinal injuries and postoperative complications.
- Evaluate patients using appropriate clinical examination and diagnostic imaging.
- Develop individualized surgical and non-surgical treatment plans.
- Provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care.
- Work closely with neurosurgeons, orthopedic specialists, neurologists, radiologists, physiotherapists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to patient safety and infection-control standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development.
- Medical degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, or Spine Surgery.
- Recognized Western qualification such as UK CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Irish, or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Consultant-level experience in Spine Surgery.
- Strong experience in complex spinal procedures and management of spinal trauma and degenerative conditions.
- Experience with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery.
- Experience in a tertiary, multispecialty, or leading private hospital is preferred.
- Fellowship training in Spine Surgery is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical decision-making and surgical skills.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
