Job Summary

Leading hospital in the UAE is looking for an experienced Consultant in Pain Medicine with strong expertise in the assessment and management of acute, chronic, and complex pain conditions. The role involves providing comprehensive multidisciplinary pain care, performing appropriate interventional procedures, and developing individualized treatment plans for patients with a wide range of pain disorders. The successful candidate will work closely with specialists across the hospital and contribute to the development of advanced pain management services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and complex pain conditions.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based pain management plans.
• Manage musculoskeletal, neuropathic, cancer-related, postoperative, and chronic pain conditions.
• Perform appropriate interventional pain procedures according to training and clinical expertise.
• Provide image-guided procedures such as nerve blocks, joint injections, epidural procedures, and other pain interventions where appropriately trained.
• Evaluate patients referred for complex or treatment-resistant pain conditions.
• Work closely with anesthesiology, neurology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, oncology, rehabilitation, and other specialties.
• Provide appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management strategies.
• Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust management plans based on patient response.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure high standards of patient safety.
• Participate in multidisciplinary pain management meetings and complex case discussions.
• Contribute to clinical audits, research, teaching, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support the development of comprehensive and advanced pain management services within the hospital.

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, or a relevant specialty.
• American Board, UK CCT/CCST, or equivalent recognized Western qualification.
• Western-qualified candidate with established Consultant-level experience.
• Strong experience in the assessment and management of complex acute and chronic pain.
• Demonstrated experience in interventional pain management procedures.
• Experience in a leading hospital, tertiary-care center, or multidisciplinary pain service preferred.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based pharmacological and interventional pain management.
• Excellent clinical judgment and patient-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
