Commi 1 - Indian Cuisine

Your Day to Day

As a Commis I, you will assist in the kitchen operations to ensure that all food is served according to pre-determined methods of cooking and plating instructions as per the hotel standards.

What We Need From You

• Previous experience as a Commis I or in a similar culinary role, with hands-on experience in Indian cuisine, preferably in a Indian restaurant.

• Strong knowledge of authentic Indian cuisine, including regional specialties, traditional cooking methods, spice combinations, marinades, curries, tandoor preparations, and Indian food presentation.

• Familiarity with a wide range of Indian ingredients, spices, herbs, and flavour profiles, with the ability to assist in preparing authentic Indian dishes to established recipes and standards.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a clean, well-organized, and efficient workstation.

• Ability to work in a paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency in taste, quality, portioning, and presentation of Indian dishes.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and perform effectively under pressure during busy service periods.

• A passionate, team-oriented attitude, with good communication skills and a willingness to develop culinary skills and expand knowledge of Indian cuisine.

• Sound knowledge of food safety, kitchen sanitation, and HACCP standards, ensuring compliance with hygiene and food handling requirements.
