The Banquet Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all banquet events at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, and consistently high service standards. The role will oversee banquet operations for meetings, conferences, weddings, social events, corporate functions, and other catered occasions, while leading and developing the banquet team and working closely with Events, Sales, Kitchen, Stewarding, Front Office, and other hotel departments.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Plan and manage the smooth execution of all banquet functions from setup through breakdown.
- Review banquet event orders and ensure all requirements are communicated clearly to the relevant departments.
- Coordinate room layouts, seating arrangements, décor, audiovisual requirements, food and beverage service, and special guest requests.
- Conduct pre-event briefings and ensure the team understands event requirements, service standards, and responsibilities.
- Monitor events throughout service to ensure quality, timing, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure banquet areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and hygiene.
- Handle operational challenges and guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop banquet supervisors, captains, servers, and casual staff.
- Prepare staffing schedules according to business levels and event requirements.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate hotel standards, promotions, policies, and operational updates.
- Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Ensure all team members follow IHG and hotel service standards, grooming requirements, and operational procedures.
- Maintain a visible presence during events and actively engage with clients and guests.
- Build strong relationships with event organizers and key clients.
- Anticipate guest needs and ensure personalized service for VIPs and special occasions.
- Resolve guest complaints professionally and follow through to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Support the hotel in achieving excellent guest satisfaction and positive event feedback.WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in banquet operations, preferably within a four- or five-star hotel.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a high-volume banquet, events, or conference operation.
- Strong knowledge of banquet service, event setup, food and beverage operations, and conference/event requirements.
- Experience handling corporate events, weddings, conferences, and large-scale functions is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent guest-service orientation with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours according to business requirements.
