Job Requirement:
To ensure smooth operation of the laundry department as per the set standards & procedures ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops Standard Operating Procedure for new task or changed conditions, submitting the proposed new procedure to the Director of Housekeeping for approval
- Schedules department personnel in accordance with projected occupancy and business activity to insure utmost operating efficiency and consistent with good service and quality
- Possess a complete knowledge of washing, spotting, starching, and pressing techniques
- Ensure that all items laundered within the hotel’s laundry are finished to the highest standard achievable and returned to the staff in immaculate condition
- Organize movement of dirty and clean laundry
- Ensure all damaged linen are sent to the discarding
- Control and record chemical consumption and reorder as required
- Assist in maintaining records of stock and equipment
- Supervise all employees within the Laundry Department
- Ensure daily production records for linen are maintained
- Recommends employment, discharge and discipline of Laundry Production employees through consultation with Director of Housekeeping and HRD in accordance with local Labor regulation
- Participate in all Manager meetings, presenting for open discussion and solution any operating problems of his Department which may involve or concern other operations of the hotel
- Prepares all necessary operating reports for submission to Director of Housekeeping. Prepares and forwards monthly reports of the operation of the Laundry Production
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
License or Certification: None
