Job Description

The Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional spa and wellness treatments that promote relaxation, rejuvenation, and overall wellbeing while creating a warm, personalized, and memorable experience for every guest.

The role embodies the Our Habitas approach to wellbeing, connection, care, and meaningful experiences, ensuring treatments are delivered professionally, safely, and in accordance with established spa standards and guest preferences.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Treatments

• Welcome guests warmly and create a comfortable, relaxing, and personalized spa experience.
• Conduct appropriate guest consultations before treatments to understand individual needs, preferences, expectations, and relevant contraindications.
• Perform professional spa treatments, including massage, body treatments, facials, and other wellness services according to training, certification, and the spa treatment menu.
• Personalize treatments appropriately based on guest needs while maintaining established treatment protocols.
• Explain treatments and wellness recommendations clearly and professionally.
• Provide appropriate post-treatment advice and recommendations.
• Maintain guest privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and comfort at all times.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and thoughtfully to requests.
• Handle guest feedback professionally and immediately escalate concerns when necessary.Spa Operations

• Prepare treatment rooms before each appointment and ensure they are clean, organized, comfortable, and fully stocked.
• Ensure treatment rooms are reset promptly and correctly after every treatment.
• Maintain appropriate levels of linens, amenities, oils, products, and treatment supplies.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Ensure spa equipment is used correctly and report any damage or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Support appointment flow and communicate effectively with the Spa Reception and Wellness Team to minimize delays and enhance the guest journey.
• Assist with inventory counts and advise the Spa Supervisor of low stock or replenishment requirements.Hygiene, Health & Safety

• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and personal grooming.
• Clean and sanitize treatment rooms, equipment, tools, and surfaces according to established procedures.
• Follow appropriate hand hygiene and linen-handling procedures.
• Understand treatment contraindications and ensure treatments are not performed when there may be a health or safety concern.
• Immediately report accidents, injuries, guest reactions, or health and safety concerns.
• Ensure all products, oils, chemicals, and equipment are stored and handled safely.
• Comply with applicable local health regulations and Company hygiene and safety standards.Product Knowledge & Commercial Awareness

• Maintain excellent knowledge of the spa treatment menu, wellness experiences, products, packages, and promotions.
• Recommend appropriate treatments and retail products based on genuine guest needs rather than a purely sales-driven approach.
• Support spa revenue objectives through thoughtful treatment recommendations, upgrades, and retail sales.
• Ensure accurate recording of treatments and products used as required.
• Participate in product knowledge sessions and continuously develop technical and wellness knowledge.Teamwork & Our Habitas Culture

• Work collaboratively with Spa, Wellness, Front Office, Experiences, Housekeeping, and other departments to create a seamless guest experience.
• Attend departmental briefings, training sessions, and meetings as required.
• Support colleagues during busy periods and contribute positively to the overall team environment.
• Demonstrate respect, empathy, professionalism, and cultural awareness when interacting with guests and colleagues.
• Embody the Our Habitas culture through authentic, warm, and meaningful interactions.
• Participate in resort activities, wellness initiatives, and special guest experiences when required.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

• Recognized certification or qualification in Massage Therapy, Beauty Therapy, Spa Therapy, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Spa Therapist, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, wellness retreat, or similar hospitality environment.
• Professional competency in relevant massage and body-treatment techniques.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, treatment contraindications, hygiene, and safe treatment practices.
• Additional certifications in specialized massage, facial, holistic, or wellness therapies are an advantage.
• Good spoken English and ability to communicate comfortably with international guests.
• Strong personal grooming and professional presentation.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and according to resort operational requirements.
