Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Engineer - Planning to join our organization in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive planning strategies that drive project success and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to make decisive recommendations that align with organizational objectives. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize resource allocation, manage complex timelines, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines using industry-standard planning tools and methodologies
• Analyze project requirements and constraints to identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for optimization
• Allocate resources effectively across multiple projects, ensuring optimal utilization and capacity planning
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders
• Monitor project progress against established baselines and implement corrective actions as needed
• Prepare and present comprehensive planning reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to management
• Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to refine planning strategies and address challenges
• Estimate project costs, budgets, and resource requirements with accuracy and attention to detail
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement streamlined planning procedures
• Mentor junior planning staff and contribute to the development of planning best practices within the organization
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in a planning or scheduling role
• Advanced proficiency with project planning software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends
• Demonstrated expertise in resource allocation, capacity planning, and budget forecasting
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools for reporting and forecasting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences
• Experience in risk assessment, mitigation planning, and contingency management
• Knowledge of project management methodologies including Agile, Lean, or traditional waterfall approaches
• Proven track record of improving planning processes and driving operational efficiency
• Preferred: Experience working in the UAE or Middle East region with familiarity of local regulatory and market conditions
• Preferred: Experience leading or mentoring planning teams
• Preferred: Familiarity with engineering project management within infrastructure, construction, or industrial sectors
