Senior Associate – GRCS (Legal & Regulatory Compliance)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Associate – GRCS (Legal & Regulatory Compliance) to support the delivery of legal and regulatory compliance advisory engagements across various sectors. The role requires a strong legal foundation, sound analytical capabilities, and hands-on experience in interpreting and applying UAE laws and regulations within a business and advisory context.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct in-depth regulatory research using LexisNexis and other legal databases to identify, interpret, and analyze applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
• Identify and assess regulatory obligations applicable to client operations across various sectors and jurisdictions.
• Execute regulatory compliance reviews, gap assessments, and compliance maturity assessments.
• Assist in developing and updating legal and compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Support the drafting of high-quality compliance reports, findings, risk assessments, and client deliverables with clear, practical recommendations.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of legal and compliance audits, including documentation review, control testing, and reporting.
• Analyze regulatory developments and assess their impact on client business models and operations.
• Contribute to the preparation of regulatory obligation registers and compliance monitoring frameworks.
• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and interviews to gather information and support engagement delivery.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality work in line with engagement timelines and internal quality standards.Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) – preferred.
• Master’s degree in Law (e.g., LLM or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Law) – preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in legal services, regulatory compliance, risk advisory, or internal audit.
• Strong experience in conducting legal and regulatory research using LexisNexis and similar legal research platforms.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting UAE laws and regulations.
• Strong report-writing and drafting skills in English, with high attention to detail and analytical rigor.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team-based advisory environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Preferred Attributes
• Knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks issued by key UAE regulators (e.g., SCA, CBUAE, FSRA (ADGM), DFSA, ADAA, and other sectoral authorities).
• Prior experience within a consulting or advisory firm environment.
• Professional certifications in compliance, internal audit, fraud examination, or regulatory advisory (e.g., CFE, CCEP, ICA, CIA) are advantageous.
• Proficiency in Arabic (spoken and written) is a plus.
