Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized **General Accountant** to join our Finance & Accounting team in Lusail, Qatar. In this role, you'll play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, performing critical account reconciliations, and supporting our month-end closing processes. We're seeking a collaborative professional who is passionate about ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded in accordance with our organization's policies and accounting standards. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail
• Record and verify daily financial transactions and journal entries in a timely manner
• Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and support the finance team throughout the process
• Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions when required, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany accounts and internal transfers to maintain transparency
• Ensure proper recording and allocation of revenues, expenses, and other financial transactions
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management reports that support decision-making
• Investigate and resolve accounting record discrepancies with analytical rigor and problem-solving skills
• Support the preparation of accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjusting entries
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records for audit and reference purposes
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing required schedules and supporting documentation
• Work collaboratively with other Finance team members and hotel departments to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting
• Assist senior accounting staff with ad hoc financial and accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Solid understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Strong problem-solving ability and resilience when facing complex accounting challenges
• Effective time management and ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team
• Adaptability and openness to learning new processes and systems**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Previous experience in a luxury or international hotel setting
• Knowledge of hospitality revenue, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and income audit processes
• Professional accounting certification or qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
