The Consultant Vascular Surgeon is responsible for providing comprehensive specialist and consultant-level care for patients with vascular and arterial diseases. The role includes clinical assessment, diagnosis, surgical and endovascular treatment, perioperative management, follow-up care, and multidisciplinary coordination.
The Consultant will provide high-quality, evidence-based vascular surgical services while maintaining patient safety, clinical governance, and compliance with applicable UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Conduct comprehensive consultations, clinical assessments, and physical examinations of patients with vascular conditions.
Diagnose and manage arterial, venous, and other vascular disorders within the approved scope of practice.
Review and interpret vascular imaging, including Doppler ultrasound, CT angiography, MR angiography, and conventional angiography.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic results, disease severity, and patient-specific factors.
Perform open vascular surgical procedures and endovascular interventions according to approved clinical privileges and expertise.
Manage patients with peripheral arterial disease, carotid disease, aneurysmal disease, acute limb ischemia, venous disease, and other vascular conditions.
Provide appropriate preoperative assessment, informed consent, operative planning, and risk counselling.
Perform postoperative monitoring and management, including identification and treatment of complications.
Provide outpatient follow-up and long-term vascular surveillance.
Coordinate patient care with interventional radiology, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, orthopedics, nephrology, diabetology, wound care, anesthesia, and other relevant specialties.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to complex case discussions.
Provide emergency vascular surgical consultation and management when required.
Ensure appropriate referral or transfer of patients requiring services outside the facility's capabilities.
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records in accordance with UAE regulations and hospital policies.
Communicate diagnosis, treatment options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes clearly to patients and their families.
- Medical degree: MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery and/or Vascular Surgery.
- Fellowship/subspecialty qualification in Vascular Surgery is preferred.
- Qualification must be recognized by the relevant UAE health authority.
- Current BLS certification; additional certifications may be required by the healthcare facility.

Requirements
