Job Description – Consultant Urologist
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Urologist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of disorders affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive system. The Consultant Urologist will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, perform advanced urological procedures, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes in accordance with DOH regulations and international clinical standards.
Responsibilities
• Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with acute and chronic urological conditions.
• Assess and treat conditions including:
• Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
• Kidney and ureteric stones
• Bladder disorders
• Prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancers
• Male infertility
• Erectile dysfunction and male sexual health disorders
• Urinary incontinence
• Congenital urological abnormalities
• Urological trauma
•
• Perform a comprehensive range of urological procedures, including:
• Cystoscopy
• Ureteroscopy
• Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP)
• Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor (TURBT)
• Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL)
• Laser lithotripsy
• Laparoscopic and minimally invasive urological surgeries
• Radical and partial nephrectomy
• Radical prostatectomy
• Reconstructive urological procedures
•
• Perform pre-operative assessments and provide comprehensive post-operative care.
• Interpret laboratory investigations, imaging studies, and urodynamic test results.
• Collaborate with nephrologists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists for coordinated patient care.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, preventive care, and long-term follow-up.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research activities.
• Supervise and mentor specialists, residents, fellows, and junior medical staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the hospital's electronic medical record system.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and clinical governance requirements.
• Participate in the departmental on-call rota and provide emergency urological services as required.Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency in Urology.
- Fellowship/CCT/CCST/Arab Board/American Board/Canadian Board or equivalent qualification recognized by DOH for Consultant registration.
- Eligibility for or possession of a DOH Consultant Urologist License.
- Relevant post-qualification experience as per DOH Professional Qualification Requirements.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.Benefits

Requirements
- •MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- •Accredited residency in Urology
- •Fellowship/CCT/CCST/Arab Board/American Board/Canadian Board or equivalent
- •DOH Consultant Urologist License eligibility
- •Relevant post-qualification experience
- •Valid BLS certification
- •ACLS certification
Nice to Have
- •Experience in congenital urological abnormalities
- •Experience in urological trauma
- •Experience in male sexual health disorders
- •Experience in male infertility
