We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Critical Care Specialist to join our healthcare team in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide expert management of critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring, advanced life support, and complex medical interventions. The Consultant Critical Care Specialist will lead multidisciplinary ICU care, optimize patient outcomes, and ensure delivery of evidence-based critical care services in accordance with DHA regulations and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive medical care for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex and life-threatening conditions, including:
• Respiratory failure
• Sepsis and septic shock
• Multi-organ failure
• Acute cardiac conditions
• Neurological emergencies
• Trauma and surgical critical care
• Acute kidney injury
• Severe infections and critical illnesses
• Post-operative and high-risk surgical patients
•
• Manage patients requiring advanced life support, including:
• Mechanical ventilation
• Non-invasive ventilation (NIV)
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Vasopressor and inotropic support
• Renal replacement therapy support
• Sedation and analgesia management
•
• Perform and supervise critical care procedures, including:
• Central venous catheterization
• Arterial line placement
• Airway management and intubation
• Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), where trained
• Other invasive monitoring procedures as credentialed
•
• Conduct daily ICU rounds and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with intensivists, anesthesiologists, surgeons, cardiologists, neurologists, nephrologists, infectious disease specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide emergency assessment and stabilization of critically ill patients.
• Participate in rapid response teams, code blue events, and emergency medical interventions.
• Communicate effectively with patients’ families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment decisions.
• Supervise and mentor ICU specialists, residents, fellows, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Participate in ICU quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, clinical audits, research, and continuing medical education.
• Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, infection prevention standards, patient safety protocols, and clinical governance requirements.
• Participate in ICU on-call coverage as required.Requirements
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Completion of accredited residency training in Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or related specialty with recognized critical care fellowship training.
- Fellowship/CCT/CCST/Arab Board/American Board/Canadian Board or equivalent qualification recognized by DHA for Consultant registration.
- Eligibility for or possession of a DHA Consultant Critical Care License.
- Relevant post-qualification experience as per DHA Professional Qualification Requirements.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Additional critical care certifications (such as FCCS, EDIC, or equivalent) are preferred.Benefits

Requirements
