ABOUT THE ROLE
A leading healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its mental health and psychiatric services and is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join its clinical team.
The role offers an opportunity for an internationally trained psychiatrist to work within a modern, patient-centred healthcare environment serving a diverse patient population. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining high standards of clinical care.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supported by experienced psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists, social workers and other healthcare professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including evaluation of mental health history, risk factors and current clinical presentation.
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders and other complex mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans, including pharmacological and appropriate non-pharmacological interventions.
- Monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness and potential adverse effects, making adjustments where clinically appropriate.
- Assess and manage patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms and clinical risk, including appropriate referral or escalation when required.
- Work collaboratively with psychologists, therapists, nursing teams and other medical specialists to provide coordinated patient care.
- Provide appropriate counselling and education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options and ongoing care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, patient safety standards and professional requirements.
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and multidisciplinary case discussions.

- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- UK CCT / MRCPsych / FRCPsych
- European Board or National Specialist Registration in Psychiatry
- Royal College Certification, Canada
- Australian FRANZCP
- Arab Board
- MD / DNB / FCPS or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification
Candidates from the USA, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, India, the Middle East, Africa and South America may be considered, subject to eligibility for UAE medical licensing and the healthcare facility's credentialing requirements.
