Consultant Neonatologist - American Board / Western Qualified - Leading hospital

Job Summary

Government Healthcare Facility in the UAE is looking for an experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join its advanced neonatal and pediatric care services. The role involves providing comprehensive care to premature and critically ill newborns, managing complex neonatal conditions, and working closely with obstetric, pediatric, surgical, and multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality neonatal care, patient safety, clinical excellence, and the continued development of advanced neonatal services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment and management of newborns requiring specialized and intensive neonatal care.
• Manage premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill neonates.
• Diagnose and treat complex neonatal conditions, including respiratory, cardiovascular, infectious, neurological, and metabolic disorders.
• Provide advanced neonatal resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill newborns.
• Manage neonates requiring mechanical ventilation, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and other respiratory support.
• Manage complex cases requiring advanced monitoring and intensive care.
• Coordinate care for newborns with congenital anomalies and surgical conditions in collaboration with pediatric surgical teams.
• Provide antenatal and perinatal consultation for high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with obstetric teams.
• Support neonatal nutrition, growth, developmental care, and discharge planning.
• Work closely with pediatricians, obstetricians, pediatric surgeons, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and complex case discussions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure high standards of patient safety and infection control.
• Participate in clinical audits, teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of neonatal protocols, clinical pathways, and advanced neonatal services.

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Neonatology, Pediatrics, or a relevant specialty.
• American Board in Pediatrics with recognized Neonatology fellowship/subspecialty training, or equivalent Western qualification.
• Western-qualified candidate with established Consultant-level experience.
• Strong experience in neonatal intensive care and management of critically ill newborns.
• Proven expertise in neonatal resuscitation, respiratory support, and management of premature and high-risk neonates.
• Experience in a leading hospital, tertiary-care center, or advanced NICU preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in high-acuity neonatal cases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary neonatal and pediatric team.
