Role Overview
Sunreef Yachts is seeking an experienced Boat Builder / Marine Production Engineer to join our shipyard production team in Ras Al Khaimah.
This role is responsible for supervising and executing the construction of luxury vessels, coordinating production activities, and ensuring that all marine structures, systems, and installations meet the highest quality and safety standards required in the superyacht industry.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure efficient build processes and timely vessel delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vessel Construction & Production Supervision
• Supervise the construction and assembly of FRP composite structures, luxury yachts, and marine vessels
• Implement production drawings and engineering documentation in the shipyard
• Coordinate hull fabrication, structural assembly, and superstructure installation
• Oversee FRP lamination, mold construction, and composite fabrication processes
• Supervise installation of structural components, decks, and interior structural elements
• Ensure production activities follow approved technical specifications and shipyard standards
2. Engineering & Production Drawings
Interpret and work with marine engineering drawings including:
• General Arrangement (GA)
• Hull structural drawings
• Deck layouts and structural plans
• Shafting and propulsion arrangements
• Engine foundations and girders
• Tank structures and fuel systems
• Bilge and fire-fighting systems
• Sea water cooling systems
• Superstructure and deck structures Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges during production.
3. Production Planning & Project Control
• Prepare production schedules and manufacturing workflow plans
• Coordinate production milestones and build sequences
• Estimate materials, equipment, and manpower requirements
• Monitor project costs and production efficiency
• Maintain production documentation and progress reporting
4. Coordination & Technical Interface
• Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, and production teams
• Ensure proper integration of marine systems and equipment during construction
• Liaise with classification societies and surveyors during inspections and certification
• Support quality control and compliance with shipyard standards and marine regulations
5. Engineering Software & Tools
The candidate should be familiar with marine design and production tools such as:
• AutoCAD
• SolidWorks
• CATIA V5 (3D)
• ERP systems
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Required Skills & Experience
• Degree or diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Shipbuilding
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in boat building, shipyard production, or marine construction
• Strong understanding of FRP composite construction and marine structural systems
• Experience working in shipyards or yacht production environments
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production plans
• Strong organisational and coordination skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making capabilities

Requirements
