Main Role ( Overall Accountability)
Team Leader- Government Business reporting to the Unit Head – Government Banking, will lead a team responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with existing clients and strategic partners mainly fully government entities such as ministries, authorities, embassies and overseeing liability business such as accounts and deposit inflows. The role will focus on strengthening client engagement, driving customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. The Unit Head will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and the acquisition and expansion team to ensure alignment of business objectives and support the Bank's growth initiatives.
Principal Accountabilities
- Oversee the development and execution of strategies to build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively identifying opportunities to add value.
- Lead a team of account relationship managers for business relations responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, understanding their business needs, and developing customized solutions to meet their requirements.
- Conduct regular customer meetings, account reviews, identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, digitalization, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Ensure that the Bank is the main banker for government entities for all banking operations and products and increase float balance.
- Cross sell other bank products and solutions, including digital solutions and cards.
- Develop retention strategies to minimize client attrition and maximize client lifetime value.
- Identify opportunities for expansion within existing client relationships, including upselling additional products or services and expanding into new business areas.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with key industry stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and other external partners.
- Collaborate with the acquisition and expansion team to explore opportunities for strategic alliances and joint ventures to support business growth objectives.
- Set clear performance targets for the business relations team, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide coaching and support to drive results.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and recognize and reward top performers.
- Ensuring achievement of department level Medium term Strategic Plan KPIs.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the acquisition and expansion team, product development, marketing, and operations, to align business relations strategies with overall business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders, providing updates on client relationships, retention efforts, and growth opportunities.
Personal Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field. Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in client relationship management, account management, or related roles within the banking or financial services industry, with a strong track record of building and maintaining client relationships and driving business results.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve ambitious goals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute business relations strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze client data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to drive business outcomes.
- Proactive and results-oriented with a strong focus on driving customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.
- Knowledge of banking products and services, regulatory requirements, and industry trends is highly desirable.
