Structures Lead - Sheet Metal Technician - Secret Clearance - Qatar

We are seeking a Structures Lead - Sheet Metal Technician for a position at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

As the Structures Lead - Sheet Metal Technician, you will serve as the technical lead for sheet metal and structural fabrication activities in support of Civil Engineering Base Operations at Al Udeid Air Base. This role is responsible for leading and performing installation, fabrication, modification, maintenance, and repair sheet metal components across base facilities and infrastructure, while providing technical guidance, oversight, and coordination with other CE trades.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Lead and perform fabrication, installation, modification, and repair of sheet metal systems including ductwork, flashing, roofing components, vents, hoods, panels, and structural enclosures.
• Serve as the technical lead for sheet metal and light structural work under the Structures section.
• Assign tasks, provide technical guidance, and oversee work quality of assigned technicians or craftsmen.
• Interpret and review blueprints, drawings, sketches, and technical specifications to ensure proper execution of work.
• Coordinate with Civil Engineering trades (HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and structures) to support work orders, preventive maintenance, and project execution.
• Perform inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with contract requirements, engineering standards, safety regulations, and applicable codes.
• Support HVAC ducting systems, exhaust systems, ventilation components, and building envelope repairs.
• Conduct corrosion control, sealing, insulation, and weatherproofing of sheet metal and structural components.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and support contingency and mission-critical operations.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and serviceable.
• Enforce safety, environmental, and quality control standards in accordance with BOS contract and base policies.
• Document completed work and ensure maintenance records are updated in the CMMS or contract-required systems.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation in an industrial, commercial, or facilities maintenance environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising sheet metal or structural maintenance activities.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Working knowledge of HVAC duct systems, building structures, and facility maintenance practices.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
• Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
• Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.TRAVEL: 100%, in deployed location.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
