Job Overview
Weatherford is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to provide engineering, simulation, and project execution support for Artificial Lift Systems (ALS) projects across Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for delivering technical solutions, production optimization, system design, and engineering support for Saudi Aramco projects involving Rod Lift, Progressive Cavity Pumps (PCP), Jet Pumps, Hydraulic Lift Systems, and other artificial lift technologies.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, operations, product line teams, and project stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective deployment, optimization, and lifecycle support of artificial lift systems. This position requires strong engineering expertise, production optimization knowledge, project coordination skills, and hands-on experience supporting artificial lift installations, well intervention activities, and field operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and simulation support for Artificial Lift Systems projects, including Rod Lift, PCP, Hydraulic Lift, Jet Pump, and other ALS technologies.
- Perform artificial lift system design, well performance analysis, production forecasting, and optimization using industry-standard engineering software and API standards.
- Analyze production data, well diagnostics, and operating parameters to identify opportunities for production enhancement and equipment optimization.
- Develop technical recommendations to improve well productivity, equipment reliability, and overall operating efficiency.
- Support project planning, engineering, execution, installation, commissioning, startup, and ongoing optimization of artificial lift systems.
- Provide engineering support for well intervention, workover, completion, and artificial lift enhancement activities where required.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Utilize well diagnostics and surveillance techniques to evaluate system performance and optimize production.
- Coordinate with operations, supply chain, service delivery, workshops, and field personnel to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, production analysis, performance evaluations, and customer presentations.
- Support preparation of technical and commercial proposals for Artificial Lift and integrated production projects.
- Interface directly with customers, including Saudi Aramco and other major operators, providing engineering consultation and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with Weatherford Quality, HSE, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance artificial lift performance, engineering processes, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to junior engineers and field personnel.Skills
- Strong knowledge of Artificial Lift Systems including Rod Lift (SRP), Progressive Cavity Pumps (PCP), Hydraulic Lift Systems, Jet Pumps, and related production technologies.
- Strong understanding of production engineering, well performance analysis, artificial lift optimization, and production enhancement.
- Experience designing, simulating, and optimizing artificial lift systems using engineering software such as RodStar, SROD, GEMS, XSPOC, PROSPER, WellFlo, or equivalent.
- Experience interpreting production data, well diagnostics, and performance trends to optimize artificial lift systems.
- Familiarity with well diagnostics and surveillance tools such as Dynamometer, Echometer, or equivalent technologies.
- Good understanding of well intervention, workover, completion support, and artificial lift installation activities.
- Strong knowledge of API standards and industry best practices related to artificial lift equipment.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project planning and coordination abilities within multidisciplinary environments.
- Excellent customer relationship, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to support technical proposals, engineering studies, and business development initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software applications.Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in Artificial Lift Systems Engineering, Production Engineering, Application Engineering, or Project Engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Rod Lift, PCP, Hydraulic Lift, Jet Pump, and/or integrated Artificial Lift Systems.
- Proven experience in artificial lift design, engineering simulation, production optimization, troubleshooting, and system performance analysis.
- Experience with engineering software such as RodStar, SROD, GEMS, XSPOC, PROSPER or WellFlo
- Experience using SROD and C.FER Artificial Lift simulation and design software will be considered a strong advantage.
- Experience supporting well intervention, completion, workover, or production enhancement projects is considered an advantage.
- Proven experience supporting major operators such as Saudi Aramco or other international oil companies.
- Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to provide technical consultation and engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and field operations teams.
- Strong understanding of HSE standards, operational excellence, and quality management systems.
- PMP certification or other relevant professional certifications are considered an advantage.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.#LI-MD1
