Job Description
The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the supervision, construction, and delivery of civil infrastructure works associated with Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects, including stormwater drainage networks, roads, utility corridors, and related infrastructure. The role requires extensive experience in construction supervision, contractor coordination, quality assurance, and compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor the construction of stormwater drainage networks, roads, and utility infrastructure associated with STP projects.
- Review and approve construction methodologies, shop drawings, material submittals, and work programs.
- Ensure all construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, and HSE requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility authorities, and stakeholders to resolve technical and site-related issues.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor quality control procedures to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Review contractor progress reports, payment applications, variation orders, and claims.
- Identify construction risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Ensure timely completion of project milestones while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Support project management teams in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Prepare technical reports, site instructions, non-conformance reports, and progress updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineering certification will be an advantage.
- Membership in a recognized engineering institution is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of post-graduate experience in the supervision and construction of stormwater drainage networks, roads, and utilities for STP projects.
- Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure, wastewater, drainage, and utility projects within the GCC region.
- Strong understanding of international construction standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Experience working on projects for government authorities and major infrastructure clients is preferred.
