Overview Of The Role:
⢠The Senior Sales Assistant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the Store and Department Managers in all aspects of store operation. This includes acting as Duty Manager and contributing to achieving the annual budget by ensuring efficient store management. The role entails training new staff, managing the department in absences, maintaining compliance with procedures, and supporting merchandising to ensure optimal store presentation.
What You Will Do:
General
⢠Provide high-quality customer service both internally and externally by being knowledgeable about product categories and advising customers professionally.
⢠Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day store operations, including opening, closing, duty management cover, and security aspects.
⢠Manage the department in the absence of the Department Manager if required.
⢠Train new staff on Point of Sale (POS) operations and handle corrective actions at POS to ensure uninterrupted customer service.
⢠Supervise the receipt and display of goods according to approved procedures to ensure product availability.
⢠Ensure compliance with in-store procedure regarding pricing and ticketing to protect the company from losses due to incorrect pricing.
⢠Train and ensure that Sales Assistants apply Brand Merchandising Principles to maintain a corporate image and present the brand optimally.
⢠Assist with events such as stock take and new store openings as required.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
⢠Excellent customer service and communication skills.
⢠Strong knowledge of retail operations and merchandising principles.
⢠Ability to manage and train staff effectively.
⢠Proficiency in Point of Sale systems and problem-solving abilities.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
⢠Secondary school education.
⢠At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
⢠Proficiency in computer knowledge.
⢠Expertise in Point of Sale operations and customer service.
