Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Site Quantity Surveyor to manage all quantity surveying and commercial activities throughout the construction project lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, measurement of completed works, contract administration, cost control, valuation of variations, and certification of contractor payments while ensuring compliance with contract requirements and project budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify quantity take-offs based on approved drawings and project specifications.
- Measure completed works on-site and certify quantities for progress payments.
- Review contractors' interim payment applications and prepare payment recommendations.
- Evaluate, measure, and assess variations, change orders, and claims in accordance with contract requirements.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, budget updates, and financial forecasts.
- Review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and ensure accurate measurement in accordance with applicable standards.
- Maintain cost records and prepare regular cost reports for project management.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors regarding commercial matters.
- Participate in contract administration, including the interpretation of contractual provisions and commercial correspondence.
- Assist in procurement activities by reviewing tender documents, quotations, and cost comparisons.
- Identify potential commercial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Verify final quantities and assist in the preparation of final accounts and project close-out documentation.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions, company procedures, and applicable industry standards.Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost management for construction projects.
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, cost control, BOQ preparation, and quantity measurement.
- Familiarity with international standard methods of measurement and construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC).
- Professional certification (MRICS, AIQS, or equivalent) is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with quantity surveying and cost management software (e.g., CostX, CCS Candy, PlanSwift, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, valuation of work, and cost reporting.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
