We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Pulmonologist / Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in pulmonary medicine, respiratory medicine, and comprehensive management of acute and chronic respiratory disorders.
The successful candidate will work closely with intensivists, cardiologists, allergists, thoracic surgeons, radiologists, sleep specialists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive respiratory care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pulmonary and respiratory consultations.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, investigations, and patient needs.
- Manage patients with asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, respiratory infections, and other pulmonary conditions.
- Evaluate patients presenting with chronic cough, breathlessness, wheezing, chest discomfort, and sleep-related breathing problems.
- Diagnose and manage complex respiratory disorders and patients with multiple comorbidities.
- Review and interpret chest X-rays, CT scans, pulmonary function tests, blood gases, laboratory investigations, and other diagnostic studies.
- Perform or interpret pulmonary function testing and assess respiratory function where appropriate.
- Perform bronchoscopy and related diagnostic procedures where appropriately trained and credentialed.
- Assess and manage patients with respiratory failure and coordinate escalation of care when required.
- Manage patients with interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, pleural diseases, and other complex pulmonary disorders.
- Provide appropriate management of sleep-related breathing disorders and coordinate sleep investigations where applicable.
- Develop treatment and follow-up plans for patients with long-term respiratory diseases.
- Provide smoking cessation counseling, respiratory health education, and preventive care.
- Coordinate care with ICU, emergency medicine, cardiology, thoracic surgery, oncology, and other specialties.
- Provide pre-operative respiratory assessment and optimization for high-risk surgical patients when required.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential patient records.
- Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up requirements clearly to patients and families.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development.
MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pulmonology, Respiratory Medicine, Chest Medicine, or an equivalent specialty.
Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
Strong experience in general and complex respiratory medicine.
Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Good knowledge of pulmonary function testing and modern respiratory treatment approaches.
Strong ability to manage both acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Excellent communication and patient-management skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
