Job Description
We're looking for an experienced and visionary Project Director to lead a PMC Data Center project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this delivery role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex data center projects while managing a high-performing team and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management expertise with deep knowledge of data center infrastructure and a proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• Direct the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale data center projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timelines
• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the PMC data center operations, establishing clear goals and performance metrics
• Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines with precision, optimizing allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of project managers, engineers, and technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks proactively, developing contingency plans to ensure project continuity
• Oversee stakeholder communication and relationship management, providing regular updates to executive leadership and key partners
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies across all data center operations
• Monitor project performance metrics and KPIs, conducting regular reviews and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize infrastructure planning, capacity management, and technology implementation
• Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery
Qualifications
• Minimum 20 + years of progressive project management experience, with at least 5+ years in data center, infrastructure, or facilities management
• Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex, multi-million dollar projects
• Strong leadership experience managing teams of 10+ professionals across multiple disciplines
• Demonstrated expertise in budget management, financial forecasting, and resource optimization
• Advanced knowledge of data center operations, architecture, and infrastructure management
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation
• Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and IT service management best practices
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and modern data center technologies
• Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification (preferred)
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Proficiency with project management tools and software platforms
